It's Albany Latin Festival's 27th year! We're back on August 24, 2024, at Washington Park in Albany, NY! Albany Latin Festival Association is raising funds and promoting initiatives to promote Latino culture and performing artists. We are urgently taking action to enhance an appreciation for multicultural diversity by promoting the inclusion of Latino performers in community performance spaces. Please join us by supporting our efforts to improve "Appreciation through Inclusion."
Albany Latin Festival Association (ALFA) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to promote and develop Hispanic cultural events in the Capital Region of the State of New York to acknowledge the contributions of Hispanic performing artists and promote an appreciation for multicultural diversity.
Our Impact
The Albany LatinFest has established a unique platform in the Capital Region, providing the local Hispanic population with deserved recognition as a vital element of the community, showcasing local, regional and international performing artists, providing commercial and non-profit businesses and organizations with access to the local Hispanic population, and engaging in coalition building efforts to address recent disaster relief efforts.
The Albany Latin Festival Association (ALFA) was a principal organization involved in the Puerto Rico Disaster Relief Team of the Capital Region (A Special Project of Centro Civico, Inc.), which produced a major Benefit Concert at The EGG on the New York State Plaza and was involved in the development and production of other disaster relief efforts, including a Benefit Concert at Page Hall. In addition, ALFA has contributed several thousands of dollars in scholarships to aspiring students throughout the Capital District through its coalition with the YMCA/Black & Latino Achievers Program.
Una Noche Esplendida
In 2017 after the disastrous hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, ALFA put together Una Noche Espléndida where all proceeds went to the Puerto Rico Disaster Relief Fund. Over four hundred dollars were raised and donated to assist in the recovery process.
Hispanic Heritage Celebration
In October 2019 the Albany Latin Festival Association partnered up with community organizations to celebrate our diverse Latino Culture. Through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in the Capital Region and we are always striving to make a difference.
Benefit Concert
The Albany Latin Festival Association joined forces with other local organizations to put on a Benefit Concert where all monies raised would go to Puerto Rico Disaster Relief. The concert was a great success and over $10,000 were raised to benefit the hurricane survivors in Puerto Rico.
